Sabie Waterfall Route connects eight of the most spectacular waterfalls of Mpumalanga, the province with the most waterfalls in the country.
Mac Mac falls is just one of those places you HAVE to visit in Mpumalanga. This waterfall is situated between Graskop and Sabie. Therefore, if you're making a day-trip to Sabie, this is the perfect place to stop for some sightseeing.
If there is one waterfall you make time for, then Lone Creek Falls is it. Not only because it has one of the shortest walks from the parking area – only 200 metres shrouded in trees – but also because its long, narrow drop makes it one of the most interesting and beautiful falls close to Sabie.
Exactly as its name suggests, these falls drop in the shape of a horseshoe – cascading on either side of a solid rock. The last stretch of road before you reach the falls is gravel, manageable in an ordinary sedan, but you will have to take it slow until you reach the ample parking area. There are many other beautiful waterfalls to explore around Sabie.
MThe Panorama Route's popularity has much to do with its proximity to the Kruger National Park. It is often part and parcel of any organised trip to the game reserve. But it is also favoured for the access it provides to one of the province's major scenic draw cards, the Blyde River Canyon. The Blyde River Canyon is one of the largest canyons on earth, and increasingly popular with overseas visitors.
The most popular stretch of the route is the R532 that winds its way from the town of Sabie via a selection of natural landmarks from God's Window, the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes to the three Rondawels.
